With all the recent news about the rising prices of commodities, our peso’s buying power is dwindling by the minute.
Gas prices are up. Vegetables are priced as if you were buying a whole chicken. And don’t even get me started on rice. That pesky of inflation rate (that’s at an all time high after several years) is a pain too.
Any emergency expense that pops up during this financially-challenging time is gonna be a big pain in the neck.
Should that happen (knock on wood) though, there’s one lifeline I can always cling on.
What is it?
Answer: Client work
And by that I mean doing extra work for my clients, so they’ll pay me more.
Some of my clients (for web content/article writing) are generous (and flexible enough) to let their writers write at their own pace and time. The only condition being is that they hit a minimum number of articles or hours per week or month.
They’re cool with it since they have plenty of writers in their line up.
But if you do have the time and willingness to write more, then the better, all it means is that they’ll pay you more.
Which brings me back to my answer.
If in case I needed the extra income, I can simply sit down and work extra.
It’s like rendering overtime, but you get to decide when and where. In my case, it’s literally anywhere and anytime. All I need is my rusty old laptop and a decent internet connection. Would you believe I survive on slow 3G when I’m outside? Yup, I do.
Sure, it’s not the most brilliant money-making solution. But hey, it works for me.
And perhaps it could work for you too. Imagine having the ability to “generate” money at will. At your own pace. At your own time. At the comfort of your own home.
If this sounds good to you, then maybe you can give freelance work a try. You don’t have to quit your job, you can just try it on the side. Build up your skills. Develop more ways to earn money. In this (currently) worsening economy, every bit of peso helps.
If you want to know where to start, here’s where.
This one helps too.
Let’s go and make some money, kabayan!
